Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • minimum 3 years of experience in sommelier or wine steward roles
  • ability to manage and mentor a large team
  • excellent knowledge of wine regions and varietals
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work flexible hours including weekends
  • commitment to upholding hospitality standards
  • willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment

Job Qualifications

  • proven experience as a sommelier or in a similar role
  • strong knowledge of wines, including regions, varieties, and pairing principles
  • excellent leadership and team management skills
  • ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • passion for hospitality and guest service
  • effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • formal certification as a sommelier is preferred

Job Duties

  • manage and mentor a team of 50-75 staff in a high-volume setting
  • curate and maintain an extensive wine list that complements the menu
  • educate staff and guests on wine selections and pairings
  • oversee wine inventory and ordering processes
  • collaborate with kitchen and bar teams to coordinate beverage pairings
  • ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • foster a culture of respect, integrity, and hospitality within the team
