Job Duties
- provides superior customer service
- takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- answers customer questions regarding products
- assists with product selections
- prepares, packages, and merchandises fresh products
- slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for quality
- assists in technical areas such as basic set-up and clean-up
- uses suggestive selling techniques
- cleans and sanitizes display cases
- operates and maintains equipment properly
- complies with food safety and sanitation standards
- complies with department and store operating procedures
- records production and shrink
- assists with baking, frying, and decorating in bakery
- takes care of service counter customers in deli
- uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner
- performs inventory management
- ensures catering orders are prepared on time
- performs sanitation and maintenance of deli slicers
- serves and packages prepared foods
- educates customers on preparation and reheating instructions
- prepackages condiments
- cuts, slices, dices, and chops food in preparation for chef
