Job Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Minimum one year of experience in videography and non-linear editing
- Valid Texas Driver License or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Ability to perform strenuous and routine work
- Ability to maintain positive working relationships
- Must comply with City of Laredo policies
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and Spanish
- Must pass thorough background check and drug/alcohol testing
- Capable of physical activity including lifting up to 35 pounds occasionally
- Willingness to travel locally
- Ability to use broadcast and computer equipment proficiently
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- At least one year of work experience in videography and non-linear editing
- Knowledge of digital videography, photography, and editing software including Sony XC Video Cameras and Adobe Photoshop
- Proficiency with Apple MAC workstations and related software such as Final Cut Pro 7 and DVD Studio Pro
- Technical director experience in a multi-camera environment
- Experience operating City Council A/V room equipment
- Knowledge of TV Master Control programming and streaming servers
- Familiarity with PC workstations and software including Corel Video Studio and Microsoft Office
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Ability to operate various broadcast and audio equipment
- Valid Texas Driver License
Job Duties
- Captures, edits, and produces programs scheduled at the City of Laredo Public Access Channel Center TV including city council and various official meetings
- Reviews and accepts assignments provided by supervisor
- Plans and prepares for assigned assignments
- Ensures timely arrival to scheduled events
- Captures events, uploads data to editing station, produces movie files, burns to DVD, and sends to respective parties
- Logs assignments in binder and updates Excel spreadsheet with program schedules
- Encodes, programs, and monitors channel 2 for Laredo religious access user group
- Prepares, sets up, installs, tests, operates, and captures audio/video data from various field events
- Operates and maintains windows-based stream server and file archive
- Encodes, modifies, programs, logs, and monitors drop off DVDs for multiple channels
- Prepares, tests, and operates City committee meetings at City Council Chambers
- Assists front office with customer needs and business processing
- Operates and maintains audio/video master control room
- Follows telephone courtesy rules in all communications
- Drives city vehicle for business use
- Performs other duties as assigned
