Job Requirements

  • Completion of specialized training in occupational field
  • basic skills equivalent to high school education
  • one to two years of related experience or apprenticeship/internship
  • ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • ability to push occupied wheelchair
  • ability to operate emergency equipment
  • physical ability to balance, crawl, crouch, feel, grasp, handle, hear, kneel, lift, manual dexterity, mental acuity, pull, push, reach, perform repetitive motions, speak, stoop, talk, and walk
  • willingness to work in varied environments with exposure to noise, dust, machinery and weather
  • ability to adhere to safety regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Specialized training in audio-visual technology or related field
  • experience operating sound reinforcement and television systems
  • knowledge of safety regulations relating to productions
  • ability to operate preset lighting control system
  • experience with cameras, computers and instant replay systems
  • knowledge of closed circuit television systems
  • ability to assist in production planning
  • strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to make fine discriminations in sound and detail

Job Duties

  • Provides for the audio-visual, stage lighting, closed circuit television, and general needs of user of the facility
  • reviews event agenda/script to determine equipment and service requirements of user groups
  • sets up and takes down audio-visual and closed circuit television equipment
  • performs tasks associated with stage lighting and predetermined plots/designs
  • operates a variety of audio-visual equipment
  • insures that all equipment and systems are in operating order by making minor repairs and adjustments or by reporting need for repairs
  • maintains inventory of related equipment and supplies
  • maintains control booths
  • meets with users to assist in planning of audio-visual, lighting and other associated needs
  • assists in setup of productions
  • performs preventative maintenance on all audio-visual equipment
  • may perform some supervision
  • performs other duties of a comparable level/type as required
