Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients/customers
  • Heartsaver certification from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to comprehend verbal instructions given in English
  • Ability to read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Physical ability to perform heavy work involving exerting up to 100 lbs of force occasionally and up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Good balance and coordination
  • Close visual acuity to perform duties accurately and thoroughly
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced medical environment
  • Excellent customer service skills

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Knowledge of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient/customer needs
  • Certification in Heartsaver from the American Heart Association
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate effectively in English

  • Ability to organize and complete tasks efficiently

Job Duties

  • Clean and maintain operating rooms before and after surgical procedures
  • Maintain cleaning solutions and equipment
  • Transport pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients to and from surgical suites, Pre-op Holding, EPOH and CVICU areas
  • Transport requested items such as blood, x-rays, pharmacy items, SPD items, charts, records, and equipment between departments and surgical units
  • Participate in CIP, Quality Improvement and evaluation activities to ensure hospital, JCAHO and other quality standards are met
  • Maintain principles of aseptic technique according to hospital policy, procedure, and AORN standards
  • Maintain and store equipment in a clean and safe condition
  • Stock and maintain proper par levels of supplies such as blankets and brushes in the assigned surgical unit
  • Recognize and respond appropriately to environmental safety factors
  • Perform other job functions as assigned
