Job Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • Three years of progressive experience in athletics administration
  • Valid driver's license or ability to obtain by hire date
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Knowledge of athletics administration including HR and financial operations
  • Ability to apply university policies within Division I athletics
  • Ability to manage departmental budgets and fiscal controls
  • Working knowledge of NCAA and institutional regulations
  • Ability to oversee Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning administration
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership abilities
  • Experience supervising staff and holding them accountable
  • Customer service experience with high diplomacy
  • Ability to handle sensitive interpersonal situations tactfully
  • Ability to foster positive, productive work atmosphere
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Knowledge of English grammar and punctuation
  • Ability to interpret and apply policies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency with computer applications

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, sports administration, finance, human resources, or related field
  • Three years of progressive experience in intercollegiate athletics administration
  • Experience supervising or leading professional staff or students
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations and university policies
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and financial reporting
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
  • Experience in performance management and employee relations
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Customer service experience requiring diplomacy and professionalism
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups
  • Proficient with computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and online systems
  • Willingness to travel for professional development
  • Ability to work occasional holidays and flexible hours

Job Duties

  • Serve as primary athletics liaison to campus Human Resources and Faculty Affairs on personnel matters
  • Assist with athletics staff recruitments, onboarding, evaluations, corrective actions, and offboarding
  • Coordinate and support department-wide staff training initiatives including compliance and professional development
  • Support Athletics supervisors on performance management and employee relations
  • Facilitate organizational and succession planning
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performing departmental culture
  • Oversee business operations for revenue-generating activities including ticketing, camps, and special events
  • Liaise with internal campus departments for integrated, compliant business processes
  • Ensure IT systems meet compliance and security standards
  • Manage game-day business operations including ticketing, concessions, and hospitality
  • Collaborate with coaches and leadership on team budgets and fiscal priorities
  • Identify and resolve operational gaps and compliance risks
  • Document business procedures for internal controls and compliance
  • Provide support for special events and postseason play
  • Oversee Sports Medicine and Strength & Conditioning administrative functions
  • Develop and implement policies prioritizing student-athlete health and safety
  • Collaborate with medical and strength staff on staffing and resource allocation
  • Manage performance support budgets and operational planning
  • Facilitate communication between medical, coaching, and administrative staff
  • Ensure adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional health and safety standards
  • Serve as primary contact for sport-specific activities of assigned teams
  • Support management of sport-specific operations for student-athletes, coaches, and staff
  • Promote culture of excellence and sportsmanship
  • Work with coaching staff on student-athlete welfare, academic success, and behavior
  • Facilitate regular communication among coaches
  • Ensure unified approach to Athletics Department mission and values
