Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Public Health, Kinesiology or equivalent from accredited institution
  • One year of work experience within Athletic Training or related field
  • Board certified by National Athletic Trainers Association
  • Nevada state certification for Athletic Trainers or equivalent
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • Commitment to flexible work availability
  • Ability to travel with athletic teams when needed

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Public Health, Kinesiology or equivalent
  • One year of work experience in Athletic Training or related field
  • Board certified by National Athletic Trainers Association
  • Nevada state certification for Athletic Trainers or equivalent
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid
  • Instructor certification for CPR and First Aid preferred
  • Experience with management in Athletic Departments preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist with athletic training coverage for all men’s and women’s intercollegiate teams
  • Maintain and compile accurate records for student-athletes injured or treated
  • Compile and update student-athlete emergency contact documents
  • Provide certified athletic training coverage for all home athletic contests
  • Assist in game day preparations, set-up and clean-up
  • Schedule preseason concussion and heart testing for student-athletes
  • Develop emergency procedures and action plans for game day operations and events
  • Act as liaison with TMCC team physicians and consultants for physical exams, referrals, and treatments
  • Travel with athletic teams as needed
  • Provide expertise in prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and illnesses
  • Coordinate athletic insurance coverage with athletes, health care providers, and parents
  • Participate in Health and Wellness Committee
  • Create and manage yearly budgets for sports medicine supplies and equipment
  • Organize sports medicine supplies and maintain associated records
  • Maintain and facilitate repairs for sports medicine equipment
  • Manage all Athletic Department staff licensure for CPR and First Aid
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Collect, organize, and track measurable outcome data from each sports team
  • Track and organize alumni information
  • Assist in planning, implementing goals and measurable outcomes related to college core themes
  • Assist with management of Sports and Fitness Center including interviewing, scheduling, hiring and managing staff
  • Develop and improve Sports and Fitness Center operations and procedures
  • Request academic reports for coaches to ensure athlete eligibility
  • Assist in coordination of annual Tailgate, Banquet, Spirit Day, Health and Wellness Committee events
  • Work closely with Administrative Assistant to ensure continuity of processes
  • Process paperwork, correspondence, and documents for office functionality
  • Manage phone calls, emails, visitors, and inquiries
  • Perform other duties as assigned
