Job Requirements

  • Valid Texas teaching certificate
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certification
  • Three years successful teaching and coaching experience at secondary or collegiate level
  • Knowledge of athletic program operations
  • Ability to manage budget, inventory and personnel
  • Strong communication, public relations and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of TEA and UIL policies
  • Knowledge of district policies, guidelines and procedures
  • Applied use of computer operations and software productivity tools
  • Applied use of email and printers
  • Ability to manipulate tools and equipment
  • Ability to comply with CCISD Acceptable Use Policy and technology ethics
  • Willingness to work occasional prolonged and irregular hours including weekends
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to travel frequently within district and statewide
  • Ability to maintain emotional control under stress
  • Ability to stand, walk, lift moderately, bend, kneel and work indoors and outdoors

Job Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and student management systems
  • Preferred master's degree from accredited institution
  • Preferred Texas Mid-management or other Texas certificate
  • Preferred certified instructional supervisor and appraiser
  • Preferred Certified Masters Athletic Administrator (CMAA) or equivalent certification
  • Preferred CDL and/or activity bus certification

Job Duties

  • Assist in developing and directing a comprehensive athletics program
  • Serve in an administrative capacity for supervision and conflict resolution
  • Evaluate coaches and athletic programs at high school and feeder middle schools
  • Administer athletic policies and procedures including awards and eligibility
  • Coordinate public relations and communication with community, media, and stakeholders
  • Manage budgets, inventory, personnel and facilities including scheduling and safety
  • Ensure compliance with TEA, UIL, and district policies and maintain high standards of conduct
  • Support athlete academic success and encourage participation in multiple sports
  • Organize in-service training and professional development for coaches
  • Administer paperwork related to athlete participation and health
  • Promote positive community relations and marketing strategies for the campus athletic programs
  • Supervise athletic equipment management and funds
  • Coordinate the assignment of personnel for district and campus athletic events
  • Facilitate attendance of coaches at training sessions and ensure professional representation
  • Develop practice schedules to maximize team and individual development
  • Perform other duties assigned by senior director and principal
