Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- admissions enrollment in the University of Alaska with six or more credit hours current or planned
- minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA or approval from Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
- prior clerical experience (6 months for Level I, 12 months aviation environment for Level II)
- cash handling experience including issuing receipts
- familiarity with office machines and customer service skills
- actively pursuing an aviation-related degree for Level II
- effective communication and multitasking skills
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- ability to work flexible hours including mornings, evenings, nights, and weekends
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications
- knowledge of FAA regulations relevant to flight training organizations
- experience in operating aviation-related two-way radio systems (Level II)
- leadership experience in a peer capacity (Level II)
Job Qualifications
- enrolled undergraduate student with minimum six credit hours or plans to enroll
- minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or approval from Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs
- familiarity with office machines and equipment
- customer service experience with diverse populations
- proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications
- knowledge of aviation scheduling or accounting software preferred for Level I and required for Level II
- understanding of weather, flight tracking, and aviation information applications
- ability to operate a two-way radio
- for Level II, ability to lead and provide instruction to peers
- skill in drafting professional business correspondence
Job Duties
- support day-to-day operations of the flight operations department
- communicate effectively with customers and staff both orally and in writing
- perform proofing and editing tasks as required
- operate office equipment such as copiers, printers, and credit card machines
- use Microsoft Office Suite, Google Applications, and web-based databases for various tasks
- handle cash and prepare deposits accurately
- operate aviation-related two-way radio systems
- provide direction and instruction to peers in a lead capacity (Level II)
- draft professional business correspondence
- assist with flight scheduling and tracking utilizing aviation software
- maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion
- multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively
- understand and comply with FAA regulations associated with flight training organizations
