Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations
  • Know and live the mission and the White Lodging brand basics
  • Always answer the telephone within three rings with a smile and answer questions accordingly or transfer as needed
  • Attend to each call in a timely, courteous, and efficient manner, using correct telephone etiquette
  • Dispatch appropriate personnel to satisfy guest requests and resolve guest issues
  • Enter all guest issues into the hotel’s guest request and defect tracking system
  • Maintain a daily log of all calls and input detailed information into computer system
  • Take in-room dining orders demonstrating menu knowledge
  • Suggestively upsell and offer alternatives if guests’ desired item isn’t available
  • Pair drinks with foods
  • Enter in-room dining orders into the Point of Sale system
  • Print and distribute reports per SOP
  • Follow up on all room service deliveries to ensure guest satisfaction
  • Maintain communications board to communicate any outstanding issues or supply shortages
  • Maintain and be familiar with a directory of local information to respond to guest requests
  • Maintain a pass-on log for the next shift to ensure follow up
  • Read and initial log book daily
  • Utilize all available resources and follow up on previous shift requests and pending issues
  • Handle emergencies according to procedures
  • Report unsafe conditions and equipment immediately
  • Operate or explain TDD operation for guests
  • Follow certification handbook procedures and WLS policies
  • Understand and utilize Service Recovery and Defect processes
  • Ensure security and confidentiality of all guest and hotel information
  • Practice energy conservation
  • Record maintenance issues in computer system
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Attend work on time and adhere to attendance policy
  • Participate in daily preshift meetings
  • Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activity
  • Practice safety standards and use personal protective equipment
  • Wear uniform and nametag in accordance with standards
  • Communicate properly and effectively with guests, associates, and management
  • Promote teamwork and associate morale
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel property, staff, services, and surroundings
  • Adhere to company work rules, procedures, policies, and emergency procedures
  • Follow proper key control procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Work nights, weekends, and holidays as necessary
