Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of experience in a retail environment
- six months of supervisory experience preferred
- frequent walking and standing
- frequent bending, stooping, kneeling
- ability to push and pull rolltainers
- frequent handling of merchandise and equipment
- frequent lifting up to 40 pounds
- occasional lifting up to 55 pounds
- occasional climbing using step ladder
- capacity to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate noise
- occasional exposure to outside weather
- occasional driving with own transportation to make deposits and attend meetings
Job Qualifications
- Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- ability to solve problems and handle various situations
- good organizational skills with attention to detail
- ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, and procedure manuals
- perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to perform cash register functions and generate reports
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- ability to drive own vehicle to the bank for deposits
Job Duties
- Provide superior customer service leadership
- greet and assist customers
- operate cash register and scanner to itemize purchases
- open and close the store at least two days per week
- assist Store Manager with scheduling employees
- provide training for employees
- conduct safety meetings
- ensure employee compliance with company policies and procedures
- manage merchandise including receiving, unpacking, stocking, restocking, and rotating
- assist in maintaining accurate inventory
- implement and maintain planograms
- ensure merchandise presentation
- maintain financial integrity through cashier accountability, key control, cash control procedures
- authorize and sign for refunds and overrides
- count register tills
- deposit money in bank
- perform stocking and cashiering duties
- manage the store in Store Manager's absence
