Job Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Five years of supervisory experience in culinary management or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Food Allergen Certification
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Ability to work Sunday through Thursday 1 pm to 9:30 pm
  • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 lbs for 15 minutes
  • Ability to stand for up to 5 hours at a time
  • Ability to perform reaching, bending, and squatting motions for extended periods
  • Ability to work in a diverse community environment
  • Willingness to support a 7-day week operation
  • Pass Pennsylvania criminal background check
  • Pass motor vehicle report clearance

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma with 5 years of supervisory experience in culinary management or equivalent education and experience
  • Current ServSafe Certification
  • Food Allergen Certification
  • Valid Pennsylvania driver’s license
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Problem-solving ability
  • Professional communication skills
  • Degree in culinary, institutional management, nutrition, dietetics, or related area preferred
  • Experience in high-volume food service with varying daily menus preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee daily operations at the Dining Center to ensure guidelines, standards, and goals are met including sanitation, safety, customer service, high-quality production standards, and presentation
  • Assist with coaching and developing front of house staff on line presentation and proper portions
  • Ensure customer service goals are met by running shifts and being present during meal service to answer staff questions and interact with customers
  • Coordinate with students with food allergies or special diet needs and serve as primary liaison with the Office of Student Disabilities
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop Free Zone station menus and source ingredients
  • Act as Dining’s appointed safety officer, responsible for staff safety training, maintaining records, ensuring ServSafe certification, and managing MSDS sheets and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Supervise up to 40 employees by organizing workflow, communicating key information, providing feedback and coaching, and following disciplinary procedures in partnership with Human Resources
  • Maintain a safe, diverse, and inclusive work environment and participate in supervisory training opportunities
  • Attend monthly College Safety committee meetings and ongoing safety committee meetings
