Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Three to five years of related experience in Higher Education or Student Affairs
  • Ability to work some nights and weekends
  • Effective communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to work independently and in teams

  • Master's degree preferred in Higher Education Administration or related field
  • Three to five years of progressive experience in Higher Education or Student Affairs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to operate professionally and autonomously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related programs
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a team environment
  • Responsive and timely decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Responsible for the advisement and management of Hurricane Productions, oversee planning and implementation of 200 programs per year
  • Oversee development and implementation of marketing plans for campus events
  • Design, plan, and execute leadership training initiatives including spring leadership/new officer retreat
  • Oversee planning, execution, and evaluation of Senior Send Off festivities
  • Provide administrative oversight to Category 5 - Athletic Programming Board and Student Fan Zone
  • Design and implement assessment measures for program effectiveness
  • Negotiate, review, edit, and execute complex contracts for events and programs
  • Serve as resource for student organization leaders and university administrators on program and event planning
  • Represent Department on division and university-wide committees
  • Assist with department and division-wide programs such as Canefest, Commencement, and Homecoming
  • Supervise Assistant Director and graduate assistant, assist with student employee development
  • Manage budgets over $1 million, ensure financial compliance
  • Engage in sponsor/donor cultivation under Senior Director advisement
  • Contribute ideas and viewpoints to Senior Director on strategic plans
  • Make daily independent decisions to meet department objectives and ensure policy compliance
