Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of hospitality sales experience
  • Extensive knowledge in sales and/or event management with negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership influence and critical thinking
  • Ability to identify and satisfy customer needs
  • Initiative-taking approach for problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Ability to hold others accountable
  • Working knowledge of laws, codes, and regulations
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal

  • Strong time management, planning, and decision making

  • Proficient mathematical skills including calculations of discounts and percentages
  • Analytical mindset for data assessment
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, Excel
  • Knowledge of hospitality sales platforms preferred
  • Strong financial reporting skills
  • Ability to present clearly to senior management
  • Willingness to travel including overnight stays and client entertainment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 4-6 years of hospitality sales experience or similar environment
  • Possess extensive knowledge in sales and/or event management with strong negotiation skills
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and interpersonal influence abilities
  • Excellent communication skills including contract writing and business correspondence
  • Ability to develop innovative solutions and manage time effectively
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office and hospitality sales platforms
  • Financial acumen including knowledge of P&L statements, budgets, and dynamic pricing
  • Ability to present to senior management and clients
  • Proficiency in client research and staying current with industry trends
  • Ability to travel for client entertainment and business

Job Duties

  • Collaborates on preparation of internal prework, group strategic plans, and departmental revenue and expense budgets
  • Assists in creation of departmental objectives, team deployment strategies, and performance targets
  • Proactive selling efforts individually and in support of sales team to meet activity and revenue goals
  • Focus on business travel market segment growth and support group segment and overall sales production
  • Leads promotional trade shows and offsite industry events
  • Conducts industry research and property data analysis to forecast future business volume
  • Ensures departmental adherence to accounting standards, including deposits, direct billing, and pre-payments
  • Supports sales initiatives including outreach, negotiations, contract reviews, and service delivery
  • Mentors and coaches departmental team members and collaborates on monthly training programs
  • Engages in client relationship building, new business development, and networking
  • Responds to incoming RFPs within 24 hours
  • Forecasts revenue and ensures financial accuracy across platforms
  • Maintains positive working relationships across departments and stakeholders
