Job Requirements

  • Experience managing housing operations or similar
  • Ability to supervise and train staff
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Flexibility for evening and weekend work including on-call duties
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel

Job Qualifications

  • Masters degree required
  • Experience in housing operations management
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with housing management software such as StarRez
  • Knowledge of university policies and relevant legal regulations including ADA and Clery Act
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups and foster inclusive communities

Job Duties

  • Oversees housing assignment processes including new student placements, room selection, mid-year transitions, and summer housing
  • Supervises office and residence hall card access and key management, housing charges and cancellation fees, and department technology initiatives
  • Monitors and manages contracts with outside vendors
  • Manages housing management system ensuring accurate data and efficient workflows
  • Develops and implements housing occupancy projections, manages waitlists, and coordinates with Admissions and Institutional Research
  • Leads communication strategies related to housing processes, timelines, and policies for students and families
  • Oversees furniture inventory, storage and replacement processes and participates in capital project planning and sustainability initiatives
