Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting
- At least one year of relevant experience in hotel or hospitality finance and accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to train and manage staff
- Willingness to comply with attendance policies and availability to work regularly
Job Qualifications
- B.S. in accounting
- One year experience in hotel or hospitality related finance and accounting
- Knowledge of hotel financial statements and reconciliation of asset and liability accounts
- Analytical approach with high regard for detail and accuracy
- Strong administrative and managerial skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with advanced Excel skills
- Skilled in training, coaching, and counseling
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adapt communication style to different audiences
Job Duties
- Perform all accounting functions as needed
- Effectively schedule, monitor, and evaluate departmental expenditures to stay within budget
- Establish and monitor scheduling of accounting staff including Night Audit
- Schedule personnel consistent with business volume and needs
- Assist in producing financial statements within designated time frames
- Verify compliance with Finance SOP manual
- Participate in asset inventories
- Maintain records in compliance with government retention requirements
- Prepare sales tax returns and manage applicable tax liabilities
- Manage all accounts receivable functions including collection calls
- Ensure accounts receivable aging complies with SOP
- Verify nightly processing of credit cards
- Verify timely cash deposits
- Assist in reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Review problem accounts and adjust general ledger entries
- Identify and attract management candidates
- Train associates in job responsibilities
- Comply with attendance rules and perform other job-related duties as assigned
