Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in event planning, catering, or convention services with progressive responsibility
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency in event management systems, Microsoft Office suite, and hotel property management systems
- Ability to lead and mentor a diverse team effectively
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning within events
- Ability to manage multiple complex events including VIP programs
- Excellent client relationship management skills
- Capability to work collaboratively across departments
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- Flexible and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or related field preferred
- A minimum of 4 years of event planning, catering, or convention services experience, ideally with increasing responsibilities
- Strong communication, organization, and client management skills
- Proficiency with event systems, Microsoft Office, and hotel PMS tools
- A passion for creating exceptional guest experiences and elevating team performance
- The confidence to lead and the curiosity to keep learning
Job Duties
- Guide daily operations of the Events Department, ensuring accuracy, communication, and flawless execution
- Coach and mentor a growing team of event managers and administrative professionals
- Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and the strategic direction of the department
- Collaborate seamlessly with Banquets, Culinary, Sales, and Operations to elevate every event
- Serve as the primary partner to clients, from first conversation through final execution
- Lead the creation of clear, detailed event documentation including BEOs, Resumes, and diagrams
- Conduct walkthroughs, pre-convention meetings, and quality checks to ensure exceptional delivery
- Manage complex, multi-day programs and VIP experiences with confidence and professionalism
- Strengthen connections with new and returning clients to grow catering and group business
- Lead thoughtful service recovery and respond to guest feedback quickly and effectively
- Reinforce partnerships across the local community and expand the hotel’s event presence
- Support catering sales efforts and identify new opportunities for food, beverage, and rental growth
- Apply your expertise in contracts, booking guidelines, and hotel policies
- Oversee commissions, rebates, and vendor partnerships
- Step in to support the Sales Office and DOSM when needed
- Serve as an essential liaison between Sales, Banquets, Culinary, and Operations
- Foster a positive, engaged team culture through clear communication and proactive leadership
- Anticipate challenges before they arise and guide the team toward effective solutions
