Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of five years of direct experience in conference and events management or related programming/facilities management
- Experience managing budgets
- Experience negotiating agreements
- Experience collecting event data and providing reports
- Previous supervisory experience
- Ability to work onsite in Salem, MA with occasional evenings and weekends
- Completion of background and CORI check satisfactory to university
- Not eligible for H1B visa sponsorship
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum of five years of direct experience in conference and events management or related programming/facilities management
- Experience managing budgets and negotiating agreements
- Experience collecting event data and providing reports on participant satisfaction and event impact
- Previous supervisory experience
- Preferred seven years of experience in higher education or non-profit settings
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and successful execution of deliverables
Job Duties
- Oversee daily operations of conference and events services
- Prepare and negotiate agreements and vendor contracts
- Manage the summer conference housing program
- Coordinate facility and classroom rentals for external organizations
- Lead major on-campus event planning and execution
- Provide strategic leadership and supervision to classified, professional, graduate, and student staff
- Develop event budgets and manage vendor relations
- Collect event data and generate reports evaluating event impact and participant satisfaction
- Collaborate with university departments such as Public Safety, Dining, and Facilities for event support
- Champion recruitment and development of the events services team
