Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years event planning and management experience
- Experience with diverse guest audiences including high-level donors
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership and team-building skills
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Availability to travel to off-site locations during business hours, evenings, and weekends
- Ability to travel as required
- Successful completion of background check
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of five years experience in planning, production and management of diverse events
- Skilled in concept development and negotiation for impactful events
- Knowledgeable in event protocols and procedures, preferably in nonprofit or university settings
- Demonstrated project, time and organizational management skills
- Ability to work independently in complex environments
- Strong interpersonal, verbal communication, and persuasive speaking skills
- Experience supervising staff and volunteers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
- Preferred proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud
- Preferred knowledge of university budgetary procedures and event-related policies
- Preferred familiarity with UCLA campus venues and regulatory compliance for events
Job Duties
- Develop and manage a variety of events to support UCLA Health Sciences Development priorities
- Collaborate with senior development leaders to plan and execute events of all sizes and types
- Manage event budgets, timelines, and vendor contracts effectively
- Oversee production of event materials and ensure alignment with institutional goals
- Recruit, supervise, and motivate direct reports and volunteers
- Maintain high standards of event quality, promoting engagement and donor relations
- Track event data and analyze outcomes for continuous improvement
