Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 2 years experience in healthcare or senior living setting
  • ServSafe Certification or Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain
  • Experience with special dietary requirements
  • Ability to lead and supervise staff
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and policies
  • Ability to work 11am to 7:30pm Monday to Friday, no weekends

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Culinary degree or formal training preferred
  • ServSafe Certification or Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare or senior living setting
  • Experience with special dietary needs like low-sodium, diabetic, texture-modified diets
  • Strong leadership skills to supervise staff

Job Duties

  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service
  • Plan and initiate cooking schedule
  • Prepare, season, and cook meals following standardized recipes
  • Ensure portion control based on resident dietary requirements
  • Prepare food in accordance with dietary restrictions and modifications
  • Supervise and support dining servers during meal service
  • Prepare nutritional snacks as directed
  • Monitor food temperatures during preparation and service
  • Inspect and properly store food products
  • Clean equipment and work areas
  • Follow safety codes and facility policies
  • Attend in-service educational programs
