Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • ServSafe Certification or Food Handler's Permit or ability to obtain
  • minimum 2 years of experience in healthcare or senior living setting
  • experience with special dietary needs
  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to direct and supervise staff

Job Qualifications

  • strong leadership skills
  • ability to direct and supervise staff

Job Duties

  • Coordinate food preparation and meal service
  • plan and initiate cooking schedule
  • prepare, season, and cook meals with high nutritive value, flavor, color, texture, and appearance following standardized recipes
  • ensure appropriate portioned servings for resident dietary requirements
  • prepare all food according to dietary restrictions and modifications
  • supervise and support dining servers during meal service
  • prepare nutritional snacks for residents as directed
  • monitor food temperature through preparation and service
  • inspect and store food products properly
  • clean equipment and work areas
  • adhere to Federal, State, and facility regulations
  • attend in-service educational programs
  • follow defined safety codes
