Job Duties

  • maintain a safe work environment for employees and customers by setting safety as a priority
  • ensure gas pumps, lot and store areas are clean and free of debris at all times
  • work with safety team and conduct monthly mandatory meetings and trainings
  • report safety incidents in a timely manner and comply with safety policy, programs and processes
  • train, develop, guide and evaluate employees to operate the store effectively and safely to provide superior customer service
  • maintain a professional and supportive image among subordinates and supervisors
  • prepare and submit all employee paperwork accurately and timely as back-up to store managers
  • ensure that all employees receive continuous on-the-job and company required training
  • motivate, provide feedback and share employee recognition to improve performance
  • address employee performance and violation issues as back-up to store manager
  • set and communicate performance expectations and evaluate actual performance
  • develop potential employees through coaching and training for promotion readiness
  • carry out all company policies
  • provide prompt and courteous customer service, assist customers at the gas pump, and resolve customer issues
  • accurately ring up all sales and comply with cash handling procedures
  • develop positive and professional relationships with customers, vendors and contractors
  • manage cash, monies and inventory during shift
  • assign tasks to ensure the store is clean, stocked and organized
  • ensure a friendly and welcoming store environment
  • monitor customer needs and promote programs and suggestive selling
  • assist customers with products and equipment
  • solicit customer feedback actively
  • resolve complaints quickly and sincerely
  • promote a safe and positive public image
  • promote Kama‘aina Rewards program
  • plan and manage store activities to maximize operating profit
  • monitor fuel sales volume and competitor pricing
  • monitor merchandise and food movement and competitor offerings
  • maintain store layout and product displays
  • execute store sales promotions and help with network-wide campaigns
  • manage fuel, merchandise and food inventory
  • control operating expenses
  • prepare and submit daily sales reports including invoices and bank deposits
  • safeguard and account for all money received and disbursed
  • organize and maintain site files and materials
  • receive merchandise properly
  • maintain required food and age restricted product certifications
  • assist in maintaining facility appearance and safety
  • report facility issues
  • ensure equipment and signage compliance
  • work with store manager to improve teamwork and provide training
  • assist with staffing and labor scheduling
  • abide by physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and climbing stepladders
