Job Requirements
- Over 18 years of age
- Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 pounds individually and more with assistance
- Experience in retail leadership or customer service
- Availability for flexible scheduling including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Effective communication skills
- Proficiency with computer systems
- Willingness to uphold company policies and ethics
- Ability to work in environments with live animals and moderate noise

Job Duties
- Participates in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, coaching, and terminating associates
- Facilitates associate development including reviews, recognition, team events, labor management, training, onboarding, mentoring, succession planning, and coaching
- Addresses and administers associate complaints and grievances
- Prioritizes, delegates, and validates daily tasks to meet business and pet parent needs
- Leads and coaches associates on proper processes for pet safety and health
- Coordinates staffing coverage for pivotal store areas
- Communicates company information and priorities to associates
- Leads the associate and pet parent experience ensuring pets are safe and healthy
- Manages pet parent concerns across multiple channels
- Assists with reservations for services such as hotels, salons, and training
- Oversees PetSmart services including salon, training, hotel, day camp, live pet sales, and adoptions
- Evaluates operations to continuously improve experiences and services
- Manages store events and marketing efforts
- Maintains store standards and ensures compliance with policies and code of ethics
- Conducts monthly Services Walks to validate policy execution
- Takes immediate action when sick or injured pets are identified
- Shares responsibility for store opening and closing procedures
- Drives business growth and holds associates accountable for sales and shrink targets
- Manages expenses including labor and supplies
- Collaborates with home office partners to manage work orders and purchase card allocations
- Works with services associates on productivity and scheduling
