Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a stewarding or hospitality related role
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Work authorization for the location

Job Qualifications

  • Experience in stewarding or related hospitality operations
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to manage scheduling, budgeting, and inventory control
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards in a hospitality environment
  • Proven problem-solving and coaching skills
  • Work authorization for the location

Job Duties

  • Select, train, evaluate, lead, motivate, coach, and discipline all employees in the Stewarding Department to ensure that established cultural and core standards are met
  • Ensure the organization and sanitation of all kitchens, storage areas, employee dining room, waste receptacle areas, compactor room, carts, tables, and Stewarding Department equipment and machinery through constant monitoring and adherence to a vigorous cleaning schedule
  • Control labor and operating expenses through effective scheduling, budgeting, purchasing decisions, and inventory control
  • Ensure proper use and provide regular care, security and maintenance of machinery and equipment used in the Stewarding Department
  • Communicate with employees and managers to ensure operational needs are met as well as attend regular operational meetings to ensure effective coordination and cooperation between departments
  • Work closely with the Executive Chief Steward to coordinate an adequate supply of china, silver, glass and other equipment used in service
  • Work harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and supervisors
