Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum 5 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area
- Or 2-year degree from accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- Minimum 3 years experience in culinary or related professional area
- Ability to work full time on-site
- Strong leadership skills
- Excellent communication abilities
- Capacity to manage kitchen operations and staff
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation
- Able to meet physical demands of kitchen environment
- Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 5 years experience in culinary or related field
- Or 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related area with 3 years experience
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Strong knowledge of food production and kitchen operations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and coach staff
- Experience with budgeting and inventory control
- Commitment to upholding sanitation and food safety standards

- Ability to handle high demand and multitask effectively

Job Duties
- Develops, designs, or creates new culinary applications, ideas, relationships, systems, or products
- Maintains food handling and sanitation standards
- Ensures employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
- Performs duties of culinary and kitchen staff during high demand
- Oversees production and preparation of culinary items
- Ensures work areas remain clean and sanitary
- Coordinates with Restaurant and Banquet departments on service and timing
- Communicates areas needing attention and follows up
- Supports new menus, concepts and promotions
- Assists in food presentation and decorative displays
- Prepares and cooks food for guests and special functions
- Checks quality of raw and cooked foods
- Ensures employee productivity and completion of duties
- Coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen workers
- Utilizes interpersonal skills to lead, influence and encourage team
- Leads shifts while preparing food as needed
- Handles employee questions and concerns
- Identifies developmental needs and coaches accordingly
- Conducts employee performance appraisals and provides feedback
- Communicates performance expectations
- Participates in employee recognition programs
- Monitors progress towards meeting performance goals
- Conducts training for staff
- Follows plans to prioritize and accomplish work
- Monitors staffing levels to meet service and financial objectives
- Manages food and supply inventories per budget
