Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 5 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major
- 3 years experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related area
- Willingness to work full time on-site at Renaissance Austin Hotel
- Ability to lead and manage kitchen staff effectively
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities under pressure
- Commitment to maintaining sanitation and safety standards
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Develops, designs, or creates new culinary applications, ideas, and products
- Maintains food handling and sanitation standards
- Ensures employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms
- Oversees production and preparation of culinary items
- Coordinates with Restaurant and Banquet departments for event service timing
- Communicates and follows up on staff areas in need of attention
- Supports new menus, concepts, and promotions
- Assists in food presentation and decorative displays
- Prepares and cooks foods regularly and for special functions
- Checks quality of raw and cooked foods
- Ensures productivity and completion of duties by culinary staff
- Coordinates activities of cooks and food preparation workers
- Leads and influences team with interpersonal and communication skills
- Leads shifts by preparing food and executing requests
- Handles employee questions and concerns
- Coaches and mentors employees to improve skills
- Conducts performance appraisals and provides feedback
- Communicates performance expectations
- Participates in employee recognition programs
- Monitors employee progress and conducts training
