Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years experience planning and preparing hot and cold foods
  • mastery of cooking methods
  • leadership in kitchen crew management
  • knowledge of kitchen sanitation and food safety
  • ability to enforce safe food handling
  • team player accountable for quality and deadlines
  • proficiency in English and basic food service math
  • ServSafe certification
  • customer service sensitivity
  • willingness to work weekends and evenings
  • ability to work under pressure and fast paced environment

  • demonstrated mastery of all cooking methods
  • practical experience leading and coaching culinary teams

  • proficiency in English and food service math
  • customer service oriented
  • ServSafe certification
  • associates degree in culinary arts preferred
  • experience in university or institutional settings preferred
  • proficiency or willingness to learn FoodPro software preferred
  • experience supervising culinary teams preferred

Job Duties

  • support the operation of complex, fast paced, high volume kitchens
  • master cooking techniques including cook-chill technology
  • develop and test recipes
  • prepare a wide variety of international cuisines
  • prepare and present hot and cold foods following standardized recipes
  • evaluate daily kitchen workload and suggest job assignments
  • oversee cooks and kitchen personnel in absence of unit Sous Chef
  • evaluate finished food products to ensure quality
  • assist in researching and adjusting recipes
  • execute kitchen sanitation and food safety practices
  • coordinate food preparation from kitchen and action stations
  • plan and execute production and presentation for meals
  • collaborate with Sous Chef and management to meet culinary goals
  • prepare specialty meals timely
  • perform line checks and complete service records
  • work under pressure and fast-paced conditions
