Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- or 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
- 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- ability to assist in management and supervision
- capability to maintain sanitation standards
- skilled in guest service and handling complaints
- ability to monitor and coach employees
- knowledge of restaurant policies, local alcohol laws and budget management
- excellent communication and leadership skills
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
Job Duties
- handle employee questions and concerns
- monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met
- provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
- assist in supervising daily shift operations
- supervise restaurant and related areas in absence of Director or Restaurant Manager
- communicate departmental goals and participate in meetings to produce desired results
- ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
- communicate to Chef and Restaurant Manager any issues regarding food quality and service levels
- ensure compliance with restaurant policies, standards and procedures
- monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws
- assist in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals
- perform all duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary
- open and close restaurant shifts
- interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels
- supervise staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs and financial objectives
- encourage employees to provide excellent customer service
- handle guest problems and complaints, seeking assistance from supervisor as necessary
- strive to improve service performance
- set a positive example for guest relations
- assist in review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results
- meet and greet guests
- supervise ongoing training initiatives
- use all available on the job training tools for employees
- communicate performance expectations according to job descriptions
- coach and counsel employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis
