Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or GED
  • minimum 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree from accredited university in food service management or related
  • excellent communication skills
  • strong leadership abilities
  • knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations
  • ability to manage budgets
  • availability to work full-time
  • willingness to work non-traditional hours including weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage or related field
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage or related field
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to supervise and lead a team
  • knowledge of sanitation standards and alcohol beverage laws
  • ability to handle guest complaints effectively
  • budget management skills

Job Duties

  • handles employee questions and concerns
  • monitors employees to ensure performance expectations are met
  • provides feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
  • assists in supervising daily shift operations
  • supervises restaurant and related areas in the absence of senior management
  • participates in department meetings communicating departmental goals
  • ensures employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • communicates issues regarding food quality and service to management
  • ensures compliance with restaurant policies and local laws
  • monitors alcohol beverage service compliance
  • assists in achieving budgeted goals
  • performs duties of restaurant employees as needed
  • opens and closes restaurant shifts
  • interacts with guests for feedback
  • supervises staffing levels for service and operational needs
  • encourages excellent customer service
  • handles guest complaints and problems
  • strives to improve service performance
  • sets a positive example for guest relations
  • assists in reviewing guest satisfaction results
  • meets and greets guests
  • supervises on-going training
  • uses available training tools

  • coaches and counsels employees regularly
