Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 3 years experience in food and beverage or culinary field or 2-year degree with at least 1 year experience
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Good physical stamina for busy restaurant environment
  • Valid food handling certification preferred
  • Knowledge of local alcohol laws
  • Ability to handle guest complaints professionally
  • Team player attitude

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • OR 2-year degree from accredited university in food service management, hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major
  • 1 year experience in food and beverage or culinary field
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain high standards of customer service
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Ability to manage staff and resolve conflicts

Job Duties

  • Assist in management of restaurant team
  • Handle employee questions and concerns
  • Monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met
  • Provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
  • Assist in supervising daily shift operations
  • Supervise restaurant and all related areas in absence of director or manager
  • Participate in department meetings to communicate goals
  • Ensure employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • Communicate issues regarding food quality and service levels
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with restaurant policies and standards
  • Monitor alcohol beverage service compliance
  • Assist in achieving budgeted goals
  • Perform duties of restaurant employees as necessary
  • Open and close restaurant shifts
  • Interact with guests for feedback on product quality and service
  • Supervise staffing levels to meet service and financial objectives
  • Encourage employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Handle guest problems and complaints
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Set positive example for guest relations
  • Assist in review of comment cards and guest satisfaction
  • Meet and greet guests
  • Supervise ongoing training initiatives
  • Use on the job training tools for employees
