Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of three years experience in food and beverage or related professional area
  • Alternatively, two-year degree from accredited university in relevant field
  • Minimum one year experience in food and beverage or related professional area
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations
  • Ability to handle guest complaints in a professional manner

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
  • Alternatively, a 2-year degree in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality or Business Administration
  • One year experience in food and beverage or related area
  • Strong understanding of restaurant operations and guest service principles
  • Proven leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a diverse team
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety standards
  • Familiarity with budget management and inventory control
  • Customer-focused with excellent problem-solving skills

Job Duties

  • Handles employee questions and concerns
  • Monitors employees to ensure performance expectations are met
  • Provides feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
  • Assists in supervising daily shift operations
  • Supervises restaurant and related areas in absence of Director or Manager
  • Participates in department meetings communicating departmental goals
  • Ensures all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
  • Communicates to Chef and Manager issues regarding food quality and service levels
  • Assists in ensuring compliance with restaurant policies and standards
  • Monitors alcohol beverage service compliance with local laws
  • Assists in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals
  • Performs duties of restaurant employees as necessary
  • Opens and closes restaurant shifts
  • Interacts with guests to obtain feedback on quality and service
  • Supervises staffing levels to meet operational and financial objectives
  • Encourages employees to provide excellent customer service
  • Handles guest problems and complaints
  • Strives to improve service performance
  • Sets a positive example for guest relations
  • Assists in review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results
  • Meets and greets guests
  • Supervises ongoing training initiatives
  • Uses all available on-the-job training tools
  • Communicates performance expectations per job descriptions
  • Coaches and counsels employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis
