Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah
  • Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) licensure
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of civil engineering principles, theories and practices
  • Ability to interpret engineering documents and blueprints
  • Proficiency in scientific and technical research
  • Experience with engineering data processing applications

Job Qualifications

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Utah
  • Utah State Licensure in the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Knowledge of principles, theories, and practices of civil engineering
  • Ability to read and interpret maps, plats, charts, plans, and blueprints
  • Ability to perform scientific and technical research
  • Ability to use engineering data processing application programs

Job Duties

  • Assist in coordination of active transportation and region safety efforts
  • Discuss, review and interpret plans and specifications
  • Design, develop, and conduct a variety of research projects
  • Prepare engineering and design documents
  • Represent UDOT Region Two on engineering/planning teams for regional studies and other planning efforts, traffic and safety studies, and project teams
  • Perform and review crash analyses and present findings at region and UDOT-wide meetings
  • Assist and coordinate with UDOT Traffic Operations Center (TOC) and others on traffic modeling, studies, and planning efforts
  • Respond to public inquiries related to traffic and safety
  • Lead or mentor staff
  • Complete other duties as assigned
