Job Requirements

  • Relevant operational air traffic control experience
  • Bachelor's degree minimum, master’s degree preferred
  • FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist Certification preferred
  • Strong teaching and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple courses per semester
  • Commitment to university policies on diversity and equal opportunity
  • Availability to begin position in August 2026

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher preferred
  • FAA or U.S. Military Air Traffic Control experience
  • FAA Air Traffic Control Specialist Certification preferred
  • Experience with air traffic control simulation technology
  • Strong communication and instructional skills
  • Ability to mentor and guide students
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusive teaching practices

Job Duties

  • Teach air traffic control courses ranging from introductory to specialized topics using state-of-the-art simulation equipment
  • Develop and deliver 12 undergraduate credit hours (four courses) per semester
  • Incorporate operational air traffic control experience into teaching and curriculum
  • Mentor and support students pursuing B.S. in Air Traffic Management
  • Utilize advanced simulation technology to enhance learning outcomes
  • Participate in departmental and university activities as needed
  • Stay current with industry standards and best practices in air traffic management
