Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher or associate degree with related full-time professional experience
- ServeSafe Food Safety Manager certification and proctor license
- eligibility for district vehicle insurance coverage
- compliance with commercial kitchen regulations
- sensitivity to diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds
- ability to travel as required
- availability for full-time, in-person contract
- demonstrated experience with hospitality and culinary arts industry
- ability to communicate effectively
- work collaboratively
Job Qualifications
- Any bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and two years of full-time professional experience or associate degree and six years of related experience
- possess ServeSafe Food Safety Manager certification and proctor license
- demonstrate knowledge of federal, state, county, and local regulations
- experience teaching in higher education especially California Community College desired
- proficiency in andragogy in hospitality and culinary arts and management
- ability to design engaging curriculum
- experience managing budgets and program operations
- strong communication and collaboration skills
- commitment to inclusivity and diversity
- ability to work with diverse student populations
- capacity to maintain professional ethics and standards
Job Duties
- Provide instruction in assigned classes
- support students in course progress and program completion
- assess student and program learning outcomes
- participate in articulation and curriculum development and review
- maintain currency and relevancy in assigned disciplines
- oversee industry advisory committee
- collaborate with industry partners
- coordinate program aspects such as shopping and inventory
- maintain compliance with regulatory agencies
- utilize current technology
- engage in faculty governance including accreditation and committees
- fulfill other faculty member duties
- deliver instruction in various modalities including evenings and weekends
