Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • culinary degree strongly preferred
  • 5 years professional baking experience with a minimum of 2 years in a high volume food and beverage environment
  • 1 year experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • must possess a Maricopa County Food Handlers Card or ServSafe certification
  • ability to work professionally in a busy, high volume environment
  • effective communications skills
  • must present a well-groomed professional appearance
  • demonstration of proper food handling and sanitation skills
  • basic math skills
  • must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
  • physical ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 50 pounds and work in various environmental conditions

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • culinary degree strongly preferred
  • 5 years professional baking experience with at least 2 years in high volume environment
  • 1 year experience in a lead or supervisory role
  • knowledge of all facets of baking including breads, candy, chocolate, pastry and cakes
  • effective communication skills

  • must be well groomed and present a professional appearance
  • ability to demonstrate proper food handling and sanitation skills
  • proficiency in English language

Job Duties

  • assist in the preparation, inventory, display and presentation of baked goods
  • supervise and coordinate activities of bakers in the preparation of desserts, pastries, and confections
  • carry out supervisory responsibilities including interviewing, hiring, and training employees
  • plan, assign, direct, and appraise production work
  • reward and discipline employees
  • address complaints and resolve problems
