Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a scratch pastry or bakery environment
  • Strong foundational knowledge of pastry techniques, production methods, and baking science
  • Demonstrated creativity, attention to detail, and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills
  • Ability to follow detailed recipes, scaling instructions, and plating guidelines
  • Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs
  • ServSafe certification (preferred but not required)

Job Duties

  • Assist the Pastry Chef in preparing, producing, and baking all pastries, desserts, breads, and specialty items from scratch
  • Maintain consistency, flavor profiles, and presentation standards for all pastry and dessert offerings
  • Prepare breakfast pastries such as Danishes, muffins, scones, croissants, and other morning bakery items
  • Organize mise en place, plan production timelines, and manage prep lists to meet service demands
  • Decorate and finish cakes, tarts, cookies, plated desserts, and special-order items with accuracy and creativity
  • Assist with menu development, seasonal recipe testing, and new product innovation
  • Monitor ingredient inventory, assist with ordering, and follow proper rotation to minimize waste
  • Ensure compliance with food-safety, sanitation, and allergen-control standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area throughout each shift
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support business operations and professional growth
