Job Requirements
- High school degree or GED diploma
- Prior use of ramp cleaning equipment preferred
- On the job training available
- Commercial cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to use carpet extractors and ladders
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and custodial equipment
- Ability to operate snow blowers, salt spreaders, man lifts, and pallet jacks
- Ability to perform light electrical and plumbing work
- Ability to drive a vehicle
- Good attendance and punctuality
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to operate Kubota for snow plowing
- Ability to communicate professionally with transient populations
- Physical ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varied weather

Job Qualifications

- Prior experience with ramp cleaning equipment preferred
- Commercial cleaning experience in educational environment preferred
- Ability to operate maintenance machinery and safety equipment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Customer service skills for interacting with faculty, staff, students, and public
- Ability to operate Kubota utility vehicles
- Capability to handle interactions with transient populations professionally
Job Duties
- Maintain knowledge of all cleaning activities within assigned ramps
- Learn to operate maintenance machinery such as industrial sweeper, power washers, and Kubota utility vehicles
- Assist in the direction of ramp projects across multiple campuses
- Inspect and monitor campus ramps for proper maintenance
- Remove graffiti and remedy vandalism
- Clean transient population waste including human waste and urine daily
- Clean elevator stations, windows, stair rails, trash and recycle containers daily
- Assist grounds staff as needed
- Utilize emergency shutoffs with training
- Clean carpet, upholstery, offices, restrooms, light fixtures, and stairwells
- Order supplies and cleaning products
- Remove ice and snow using shovels, snow blowers, and Kubota utility vehicles
- Replace light bulbs after training
- Unclog toilets and sinks within ramps
- Open and secure facilities as directed
- Identify chemicals and cleaning supplies for different surfaces
- Provide maintenance and security on ramp equipment
- Use pallet jack and scissors lift
- Work overtime during snow plowing season
- Regular attendance during scheduled hours
- Submit timesheets and work order requests
- Perform other related duties as assigned
