Job Requirements

  • Associate degree from a two-year college or technical school or related experience and training
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience including preparatory positions
  • Strong product knowledge of banking services
  • Proficient with PC applications including Microsoft Office Excel and Word
  • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully in difficult situations
  • Ability to read and interpret business and technical information
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to present information and respond to groups
  • Ability to perform math calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, rates, and ratios
  • Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems and draw conclusions
  • Physical ability to stand, talk, hear, use a computer frequently
  • Occasionally required to sit, walk, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift and move up to 10 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 25 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
  • Willingness to travel locally
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three to five years of related experience in banking operations
  • Strong product knowledge within the banking services industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle difficult situations tactfully
  • Strong mathematical skills and ability to interpret business data
  • Ability to apply logical reasoning and problem-solving
  • Leadership and supervisory experience

Job Duties

  • Assist with coordination of branch operations activities according to bank policies
  • Produce accurate and high-quality work while seeking improvements in productivity and efficiency
  • Respond promptly to customer requests, inquiries, and complaints
  • Protect the bank and customers from fraud by staying current on warnings and discussing suspicious transactions
  • Develop new and maintain existing customer relationships by promoting banking products and services
  • Motivate branch employees and support consumer and business development goals
  • Assist with branch certifications, callback process, and monitor branch activity and quality control reports
  • Maintain appropriate cash supply and ensure adherence to cash controls
  • Perform or assist with teller functions including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, stop payments, cashier checks, and account holds
  • Perform or assist with new account functions including opening various account types, maintenance, online banking troubleshooting, ordering checks and debit cards, and processing disputes
  • Keep management informed of significant issues
  • Provide superior internal and external customer service
  • Represent the bank professionally including confidentiality and positive attitude
  • Keep work area organized for efficiency and customer privacy
  • Complete assigned training and stay current on operational procedures
  • Attend and participate in meetings as required
  • Comply with applicable laws and regulations including the Bank Secrecy Act and Patriot Act
  • Adapt to changing duties and work at other branches as needed
  • Supervise branch deposit operations personnel indirectly including hiring, training, performance appraisal, and problem resolution
