Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2 years of relevant hospitality experience or 3 years of experience in two hospitality disciplines if no formal education
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and coordinate multiple departments
  • Knowledge of brand standards, operational policies and legal compliance
  • Willingness to work full-time on-site at Torrance Marriott
  • Ability to conduct guest room inspections and oversee event setups
  • Familiarity with food and beverage service standards and inventory management
  • Capability to assist with financial and administrative duties
  • Commitment to providing exceptional guest service
  • Ability to handle and resolve guest complaints
  • Willingness to participate in training and staff development
  • Eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or 2-year degree from an accredited university in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
  • 2 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related professional area
  • Alternatively, 3 years of experience in two hospitality areas including food and beverage, culinary, guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related professional area
  • Experience running shifts, scheduling, performance management, problem solving and running day-to-day operations
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams
  • Understanding of budgeting and financial reports
  • Experience in customer service and complaint resolution

Job Duties

  • Lead daily front desk, housekeeping, or guest services shift operations
  • Assist in supervising inspection programs for guestrooms and public spaces
  • Open and close restaurant, bar, or food and beverage outlet shifts
  • Ensure event rooms are set according to event documentation and customer requirements
  • Manage departmental inventories and assets including ordering supplies
  • Conduct room function inspections prior to each event
  • Participate in financial management and budgeting activities
  • Motivate and coach staff to provide exceptional customer service
  • Handle guest complaints and provide effective resolutions
  • Attend and participate in staff and departmental meetings
  • Support training, performance appraisals, and hiring activities
  • Schedule employees to ensure shift coverage and meet productivity goals
