Job Requirements

  • 3-5 years experience in a travel-related industry supervising teams
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field desirable
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to work weekends and holidays according to operations schedule

Job Qualifications

  • 3-5 years working in a travel-related industry managing teams in a supervisory role or higher, ideally with a leading cruise line
  • Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a related field is desirable

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary liaison between the vessel, cruise line management, and local port authorities
  • Coordinate all vessel-related operations including arrival, berthing, clearance, and departure
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with ship personnel, customs and border protection, port authorities, stevedores, terminal security, port police, and transportation vendors
  • Ensure timely submission of vessel documentation such as manifests, customs, immigration, and port clearance paperwork
  • Arrange and oversee pilotage, towage, stevedoring, provisioning, bunkering, waste removal, and other port services as required
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safety, security, and environmental regulations during vessel operations
  • Report vessel-related incidents and accidents promptly to internal environment, health, and safety teams and cruise line management
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel calls, turnaround files, and operational reports in designated shared folders
  • Provide real-time updates to cruise line partners regarding vessel status, operational challenges, and resolutions
  • Support cruise line account managers in ensuring smooth turnaround operations and guest service continuity
  • Assist Operations Manager with planning, recruitment, and onboarding of pier staff
  • Support staff scheduling, training, and compliance monitoring
  • Review and approve pier staff payroll in collaboration with Operations Manager
  • Collaborate on maintaining staffing budgets
  • Ensure HR procedures are followed for hourly staff supervised
  • Attend port and operations meetings and distribute relevant updates to staff
  • Gather and back up all pertinent turnaround files in designated shared folders
  • Assist in maintaining pier operations supplies, equipment, and signage
  • Collaborate on timely completion and submission of turnaround operation reports
  • Respond to email queries and client complaints promptly
  • Implement revenue projects and operational efficiency initiatives
  • Lead by example as a team leader
  • Communicate and enforce company policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as required
