Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum two years related experience or training
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to perform mathematical calculations
  • problem-solving skills
  • meets state requirements to operate meat cutting equipment
  • journey level cutting and wrapping expertise
  • valid food handler's permit
  • valid driver's license or state ID
  • physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to stand for extended periods
  • willingness to follow safety protocols and use PPE
  • ability to handle exposure to cold and heat
  • willingness to report workplace accidents timely

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
  • strong communication skills for guest and team interactions
  • proficient in reading and interpreting business documents
  • able to write reports and business correspondence
  • capable of performing mathematical calculations related to sales and inventory
  • strong reasoning and problem-solving abilities
  • journey level expertise in cutting and wrapping meats
  • valid state food handler's permit
  • valid driver's license or state ID
  • completion of in-house meat cutter skills training
  • knowledge of food safety and workplace safety practices
  • effective leadership and supervision skills

Job Duties

  • Reporting for assigned shifts on time and consistently
  • promoting sales through active discussions and product recommendations
  • performing inventory, sales, and financial monitoring
  • merchandising products to enhance sales
  • practicing and enforcing food safety procedures
  • directing and participating in meat and seafood preparation tasks
  • training new personnel on service and safety protocols
  • utilizing special features and equipment in the department
  • empowering associates to use guest service enhancement methods
  • ensuring compliance with safety, sanitation, and regulatory standards
  • actively participating in accident reduction initiatives
  • managing department associates in the absence of the manager
  • supervising and evaluating associate performance
  • implementing company policies and handling workplace issues
