Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Three years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major
  • One year experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related area
  • Ability to work full time
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to schedule and manage staff
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Ability to operate department equipment
  • Commitment to guest satisfaction

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Opens and closes front desk and housekeeping shifts ensuring completion of shift checklists
  • Runs and reviews room operations reports
  • Understands functions of Recreation, Laundry, Housekeeping, Bell Staff, AYS, Front Desk, and Concierge/Guest Services
  • Operates department equipment and reports malfunctions
  • Ensures employees have proper supplies and uniforms
  • Understands night audit procedures and loss prevention policies
  • Communicates performance expectations and handles employee questions
  • Schedules employees to business demands and tracks attendance
  • Supervises same-day selling procedures to maximize room revenue
  • Verifies accuracy of room rates
  • Uses budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports
  • Participates in management of controllable expenses
  • Understands impact of Rooms Operations on financial goals
  • Assists in investigation of accidents
  • Uses guest information tracking to support repeat guest recognition
  • Interacts with guests to handle feedback and complaints
  • Reviews guest satisfaction results with employees
