Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • minimum 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping or related area
  • or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration or related major
  • minimum 1 year relevant experience
  • ability to work full-time in a management role
  • willingness to work onsite at Marriott St. Louis Grand
  • effective communication skills
  • ability to use operational reports and systems
  • knowledge of budget and revenue management
  • ability to handle employee and guest interactions
  • commitment to uphold loss prevention policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related professional area
  • or 2-year degree in hotel and restaurant management, hospitality, business administration, or related major with 1 year experience
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to manage multiple departments
  • understanding of budget management and operational procedures
  • proficiency with night audit and loss prevention procedures
  • experience in guest interaction and problem resolution
  • ability to lead and motivate staff
  • knowledge of scheduling and payroll tracking

Job Duties

  • Supports management of rooms operations activities
  • opens and closes front desk and housekeeping shifts
  • runs and reviews critical room operations reports
  • operates departmental equipment and reports malfunctions
  • ensures employees have proper supplies and uniforms
  • understands and utilizes night audit procedures
  • complies with loss prevention policies
  • communicates performance expectations to employees
  • handles employee questions and concerns
  • schedules employees according to business demands
  • supervises same day selling procedures to maximize room revenue
  • verifies accuracy of room rates
  • uses budgets and payroll reports to assist in management
  • participates in managing departmental expenses
  • understands impact of room operations on financial goals
  • assists in investigating employee and guest accidents
  • supports guest information tracking system for recognition programs
  • sets positive example for guest relations
  • interacts with guests for feedback and problem resolution
  • reviews comment cards and guest satisfaction results
