Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- minimum 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related area OR 2-year degree with minimum 1 year experience
- ability to work full time
- experience in bar/beverage service preferred
- strong customer service orientation
- excellent interpersonal skills
- ability to manage and train staff
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation
- ability to comply with legal regulations
- availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or GED with 3 years experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- OR 2-year degree from accredited university in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related major with 1 year experience in food and beverage, culinary, or related professional area
- experience in bar or beverage service preferred
- strong leadership and supervisory skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to handle guest complaints effectively
- knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- familiarity with local alcohol beverage laws
- ability to work flexible hours including peak meal periods
Job Duties
- handle employee questions and concerns
- monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met
- provide feedback to employees based on observation of service behaviors
- assist in supervising daily shift operations
- supervise restaurant and related areas in absence of Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager
- participate in department meetings to communicate departmental goals
- ensure all employees have proper supplies, equipment and uniforms
- communicate any issues regarding food quality and service levels to Chef and Restaurant Manager
- assist in ensuring compliance with all restaurant policies, standards and procedures
- monitor alcohol beverage service in compliance with local laws
- assist in achieving or exceeding budgeted goals
- perform duties of restaurant employees as necessary
- open and close restaurant shifts
- interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service
- supervise staffing levels to ensure guest service, operational needs and financial objectives are met
- encourage employees to provide excellent customer service
- handle guest problems and complaints
- strive to improve service performance
- set positive example for guest relations
- assist in review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results
- meet and greet guests
- supervise ongoing training initiatives
- use all available on the job training tools for employees
- communicate performance expectations according to job descriptions
- coach and counsel employees regarding performance
