Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, communication, humanities, business administration, hospitality, hotel and restaurant management, or related field and three years of professional experience including a background in events planning and/or management, customer service, hospitality
  • Additional years of relevant experience or education may substitute on a year-for-year basis
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, communication, humanities, business administration, hospitality, hotel and restaurant management, or related field
  • Three years of professional experience including events planning and/or management, customer service, or hospitality
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet shifting demands and deadlines
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in Events Management and Planning or equivalent
  • Experience in an arts venue including event management
  • Knowledge of art history related to the museum's collection
  • Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and AV equipment

Job Duties

  • Oversee scheduling and coordination of all museum events including lectures, concerts, and gallery talks
  • Manage logistics and production for public programs, private rentals, and photoshoots
  • Act as weekend manager-on-duty to ensure smooth visitor experience and operational success
  • Support visitor experience team at the Sheldon Visitor Center to enhance patron engagement
  • Maintain excellent communication with staff, artists, donors, community leaders, and visitors
  • Troubleshoot and resolve challenging customer service scenarios with tact and diplomacy
  • Assist in administrative tasks related to event planning and execution
