Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in liberal arts, communication, humanities, business administration, hospitality, hotel and restaurant management, or related field and three years of professional experience including a background in events planning and/or management, customer service, hospitality
  • additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis
  • outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • strong organizational and time management skills
  • proficiency in computer skills including word processing, spreadsheet, databases, and presentation software
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adhere to deadlines, and demonstrate flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities

Job Qualifications

  • familiarity with point-of-sale systems
  • ability to operate and troubleshoot AV equipment

Job Duties

  • Oversee scheduling and coordination of Sheldon Museum of Art events including public programs, manage logistics and production aspects of events such as lectures, concerts, gallery talks, private rentals, and photoshoots
  • act as weekend manager-on-duty ensuring smooth operations at the Visitor Center
  • provide excellent customer service and address visitor inquiries and concerns
  • collaborate with museum staff and external partners to promote events and enhance visitor experiences
  • manage point-of-sale transactions and troubleshoot AV equipment as needed
  • ensure compliance with museum policies and safety regulations
