Job Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Arizona DPS Level One IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card prior to processing
  • Must maintain a valid Maricopa County Food Handler's Certificate
  • Ability to perform light physical effort including frequent standing and walking
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills equivalent to high school curriculum
  • Ability to work routine, regularly recurring tasks with limited discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills for ordinary conversational interactions
  • Ability to handle work environment changes and occasional exposure to noise and temperature extremes
  • Must be available for a 9-month work calendar with 6 hours per day
  • Willingness to comply with all health and safety regulations including money handling procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility
  • Ability to follow standardized recipes and meal pattern regulations
  • Experience in supervising and training food service personnel
  • Knowledge of USDA School Breakfast Program and National School Lunch Program regulations
  • Ability to operate Point of Sale systems and generate reports
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage inventory and food production processes

Job Duties

  • Assist with the preparation and cooking of food according to the menu using standardized recipes
  • Assist other personnel to support them in the completion of their work
  • Assist the manager with training food service workers
  • Supervise food service personnel at the direction of the Food Service Manager
  • Help serve food and beverage items to meet nutritional and health requirements
  • Assist with receiving, storage, inventory and production of food at the direction of the Manager
  • Monitor food service equipment and report problems to the Manager
  • Assist manager with reports and documents such as production records, inventory reports, reconciliation reports, cash summary, payroll sheets
  • Follow money handling procedures including entering prepayments and counting money daily with manager
  • Operate POS and run WebSmart daily reports without help from manager at least once a week
  • Place orders at least once a month
  • Assume responsibility of operation of the food service program in absence of the manager
  • Assist other personnel for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities
