Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four years of administrative experience including three years of supervisory experience in event, retail, or restaurant management
  • Must have or be able to obtain Class C vehicle operator's license within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to lead and develop teams
  • Ability to organize work priorities
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to delegate and utilize personnel skills
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must comply with state and federal laws and Texas A&M University policies
  • Position requires safe performance of all duties
  • Must drive a state vehicle and respond during campus emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Established capability in leading and developing teams
  • Ability to identify and organize work priorities
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to delegate tasks and utilize personnel skills
  • Skilled in multi-tasking and cooperative teamwork
  • Experience in event, retail, or restaurant management preferred
  • Experience in transportation or event parking management preferred

Job Duties

  • Assist the Manager for Special Events in supervising and overseeing employees within the Special Events unit
  • Serve as manager in the absence of the Manager for Special Events
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Manager for Special Events on hotel coordination, event, RV, and conference parking, and traffic needs
  • Assist in developing parking plans for Texas A&M Hotel & Conference guests and special events
  • Monitor the parking management system to review counts and equipment alerts, ensuring appropriate staffing
  • Handle and process customer inquiries, suggestions, and complaints concerning parking policies
  • Provide on-site supervision for hotel and special events as needed
  • Select, orient, train, motivate, and retain Special Events staff
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor staff work and approve time and leave requests
  • Manage financial processes including cash and credit card handling, deposits, and reconciliation
  • Represent the department on campus committees and working groups
  • Drive to various locations for meetings and events around campus
  • Ensure compliance with audit controls and property accountability within the unit
