Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years experience in food services including one year in leadership or supervisory role
  • ability to lift 30 lbs
  • Serve Safe certification or equivalent within 90 days of employment
  • ability to establish and implement sanitary food handling practices
  • ability to prioritize tasks and multitask
  • proficiency with software applications
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to stand for periods up to three hours without breaks

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • two years of experience in food services including one year in a lead worker, team leader, or supervisory role
  • three years full-time experience in food preparation and quantity cooking in a full-service restaurant or institutional kitchen
  • one year experience as a lead worker or supervisor
  • ability to lift 30 lbs
  • ability to establish and implement sanitary practices for food handling and kitchen maintenance
  • Serve Safe certification or equivalent obtained within 90 days of employment and maintained
  • ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency with relevant software applications
  • ability to stand for up to three hours without breaks

Job Duties

  • Plan, schedule, prioritize and assign work to food service workers
  • submit food supply requisition and monitor the quality of food service
  • conduct facility and equipment sanitation and maintenance inspections
  • clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
  • clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
  • ensure food service equipment is properly operated and maintained
  • investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
  • observe safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
  • perform and/or supervise the cooking, preparation and temporary storage of food and beverages
  • replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
  • ensure that all foods are stored properly in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
  • supervise meal service and distribution, including the setup and disassembly of dining area
