Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- two years of experience in food service including one year in a lead or supervisory role
- able to lift 30 pounds
- Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- ability to stand for up to three hours without breaks
- ability to prioritize assignments and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- strong communication skills
- computer proficiency
- ability to implement sanitary practices
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- three years full-time experience in food preparation and quantity cooking in a commercial or institutional kitchen
- one year experience as a lead worker or supervisor in food service
- Serve Safe Certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
- ability to establish and implement sanitary practices for food handling and kitchen maintenance
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- proficient computer skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize assignments
- ability to stand for long periods
Job Duties
- Plan, schedule, prioritize and assign work to food service workers
- submit food supply requisitions and monitor the quality of food service
- conduct facility and equipment sanitation and maintenance inspections
- clean work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware
- clean, peel, slice and trim foodstuffs using manual and electric appliances
- ensure food service equipment is properly operated and maintained
- investigate and resolve complaints regarding food quality, service, or accommodations
- observe safety, sanitation and health rules and standards
- perform and/or supervise cooking, preparation and temporary storage of food and beverages
- replenish supplies of food, condiments, and equipment at steam tables and service bars
- ensure that all foods are stored properly in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage
- supervise meal service and distribution, including the setup and disassembly of dining area
